Bowl of Kitten   3 comments

We’ve been weighing the kittens regularly (Luna is at 1.7 Kg). I’ve been using my kitchen scale, setting them in an old plastic mixing bowl. They seem to have picked up the habit.

Dream Curl   3 comments

My daughter thought the kittens needed a big cat tree. My wife and I were skeptical, but a second scratching post might have been in order. This morning, my daughter and I found a compromise: the Dream Curl.

The wave shape allows for all sorts of fun, with a dangly toy underneath.

Beso has decided that Eddy is his mentor. Does the dream curl meet with his hero’s approval?

And, I got my first photo of all three cats at once (Luna is in the back, investigating my daughter’s toy).

I don’t mind that he wants to watch “Big Cat Diary.” I just wish he wouldn’t take notes.

Beso wants to go with my wife. He’s figured out how to make sure he’s not forgotten.

Cheetahs & Cougars   Leave a comment

You would think we’d be getting our fill of cats with Eddy, Beso, and Luna. However, we decided to go to the zoo earlier this week. The cheetah keeper was giving a talk, and who better to demonstrate the grace of a cheetah but Miss Nia!

Isn’t she a beautiful girl?

Cheetahs don’t hunt in the afternoon. At that time, they usually lounge in the shade. The same seems true of cat ambassadors.

Do you remember the cougar cubs from last November? They have grown up a bit. Techumseh played with a toy that looks much like what our kittens play with.

Did you know cougars didn’t mind the odd swim? Perhaps they’ve been hanging out with the fishing cats?
Nice Day for a Dip

Speaking of fishing cats, we did watch them get fed. Unfortunately, the Night Hunters exhibit is still…lacking. This picture was tweaking every setting on my camera, then everything I could do after the fact. I miss the old Cat House!!!
