    • King Cake is a Mardi Gras tradition. It tastes like a coffee cake with a filling (my favorite is pralines and cream). Somewhere inside is a little plastic baby doll (about the size of a quarter (warnings appear on the box)). Whoever gets it is the king/queen/has to buy the next king cake (depending on the circumstance). While I’ve seen them in Cincinnati, everyone agrees the best ones come from Louisiana. My mom sent these to us from Delicious Donuts in Lake Charles.
